Insurance eligibility

Drivers must:

• be over 21 and under 75 years old
• have held a full driving license for a period of 12 months or more
after passing the relevant statutory driving test
• not have been disqualified from driving in the ten years prior
to the date of application to join
• not have had insurance declined or cancelled or renewal refused
• not have more than one speeding conviction in the last five years

Occupations

The following occupations are excluded:

• Professional sportspersons/entertainers

Medical Conditions and Disabilities

Any condition disclosed by applicants will need to be clarified to ascertain

• whether the condition is required to be notified to DVLA and that proof of this
will need to be supplied to our insurers;
• whether any special vehicle controls must be supplied, such as automatic
transmission or hand controls, or
• whether strong medication or restricted movement may present a high risk
when driving.

Address and Identity checks
Applicants will be subject to address and identity checks. To assist this process your applications will need to be accompanied by your drivers license (both parts where applicable - this will be returned to you as soon as possible), and a proof of identity document, dated not more than 3 months before the date of your application. The proof of identity document can be in the form of:

1. Bank or Building Society statement
2. Credit Card statement
3. Utility Bill (not mobile phone bill)
4. Rent Book
5. Inland Revenue correspondence

Deposits

A returnable deposit of £50 is required for individual and household memberships. This will be returned should you decide to leave the car club.

For businesses, a minimum deposit of £200 is required for the first two employees, and variable thereafter. Please contact us for details.
