New Car at Newcourt
We now have two cars in Newcourt (Greenacres), Exeter, with a Toyota Aygo (manual) in Beatty Avenue, available at £3.75 per hour, and a Toyota Yaris hybrid (automatic) in King Avenue, available at £4.25 per hour. Our thanks to Exeter City Council and the developer, Persimmons, for making this possible. Pictured: our newest Newcourt member, Gareth Jenkins, and his daughter out for the day.
More cars coming very soon
Bays are being marked out for Rougemont Park and Rydon Lawns in Exeter, and Pydar Street car park in Truro, as well as Newton Abbot, Plymouth and Truro GWR train stations. There will be more details in our Spring newsletter.
Co-bikes update – new locations and now join for £1
We now have over 120 members and the fourth terminal of this ground-breaking, self-service, electric bike hire scheme goes live on 1st March at the Civic Centre, in the heart of Exeter city centre, opposite Tourist Information. Our fifth site, at County Hall, goes live later in March. It’s now even easier to join, you only need to deposit a £1 credit to register. Pictured: Matt Wiessler, our Co-bikes Project Manager, completing the installation of the new terminal.
We expect you may have noticed the fuel prices steadily increasing at the pumps and wanted to reassure you that Co-cars is holding the mileage rate at 15p per mile for now.
A member’s love story
One member who loves Co-cars is Vanessa Miles, a professional photographer. She says ”I’m Co-cars’ number one fan because being a member has really enriched my life and that’s no exaggeration! I’ve been a member for about two and a half years and it has enabled me to get rid of my own car which had been giving me large maintenance bills. I’m also able to let out my car parking space so I’m really financially better off.”
“I’ve found that joining Co-cars has made me re-assess what I’m doing so I don’t make so many short journeys by car, and use my bike and walk more, so I’m fitter and healthier too. I spend more time on trains which is relaxing (and reduces road rage!) and I am getting good at spotting bargain fares.
When I do use a Co-car I know it will be reliable, clean, safe and trouble free. It’s also good to know I am a member of such an ethical company. I’m always spreading the word and will continue to do so. I’m looking forward to trying the new Co-bikes too. Keep up the good work!” So why not book a lovely trip yourself.
Come along and say hello on:
1st March – launch of the Co-bikes terminal opposite Exeter Tourist Information Centre
11th March – community fun day at Hayes Square, Cranbrook
