New Co-car in Plymouth

On 14th February (Valentine’s Day) we launched our second car in Plymouth, which is at Millfields Trust, Genesis building in Union Street, for the use of its tenants, businesses and surrounding residents.
The Millfields Trust is Plymouth’s leading and pro-active Social Enterprise landlord, so an ideal partner for Co-cars.

Electric cars update

The first of our new Renault Zoe electric vehicles (EVs) is here and will be going live soon at Hook Street, Rydon Lawn. When in ‘eco’ mode, it has a range of up to 190 miles in the summer and 140 miles in the winter. It’s easy to drive and charge, blissfully quiet, comfortable, with zero emissions, especially as its powered by Good Energy from 100% renewable energy. The hire rate will be in pricing band 3 (£4.75 per hour and £30 per day for residential members), with FREE mileage, as long you use the Co-cars on-site EV charger. Check out our electric car web page.

Mileage price rise from the 1st of April

We expect you may have noticed that fuel prices have steadily increased at the pumps since our last price change two years ago. As a consequence, we are increasing our mileage rate on the 1st April to 18p per mile, which will cover our costs.

Business member’s story

Tom Spriggs Architects Ltd
“I run my own Architects practise, and for business use Co-cars works out cheaper than using personal car expenses, plus they are always serviced, clean and smart. For personal use we benefit from the flexibility of occasional two car ownership with absolute minimal running costs.”

Driving licence update

As part of our Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy renewal requirements, Co-cars must now obtain a copy of your licence summary from the DVLA website, on an annual basis. We will be contacting members in the near future and would appreciate your cooperation to ensure that you are compliant with our insurers’ requirements.

Have a lovely Easter break and remember to book your Co-car soon to ensure availability.

Co-bikes grows

Our 6th and 7th docking sites at Exeter St. David’s Station and St. Luke’s University campus, in Heavitree Road, went live in January. The bikes are increasingly used, with almost 700 members generating over 2000 trips. We’re also planning a major expansion in 2018; more details coming soon. Our new pricing makes Co-bikes more accessible, with Pay As You Ride from only £1 per 30 minutes or, as an annual Co-bikes member, you get the first 30 minutes of every trip FREE.

We hope this will make it even easier for you to use our electric bikes for regular commuting or trips across the city.

If you have an event that you would like Co-cars to attend please email and we’ll check our availability.
