Welcome to our Summer newsletter. In this edition:
Everything ‘Co’ continues to grow
Below, you’ll find details of the new cars joining our network but did you also know we’ll shortly be relaunching Co Bikes, Exeter’s on-street electric bike scheme? There’ll be just under 100 bikes rolling out to locations around the city including all our existing sites as well new locations including Heavitree High Street, Pinhoe and the RD&E – more news coming soon.
Also in Exeter, we offer cargo bike delivery services under the moniker of ‘Co Delivery‘ (you can see there’s a theme here!). Formally Escargo, Co Delivery is an environmentally friendly way of getting goods from A to B. Cargo bikes can go places delivery vans can’t – and all with zero emissions.
Elsewhere, we’re continuing to explore opportunities in both Plymouth and Cornwall and, whilst we can’t say too much yet, we’re feeling pretty positive! First off the block, we’re hoping we’ll be able to announce some good news for Plymouth soon.
More cars at more locations around Exeter
Our Exeter network continues to expand with two new Toyota Yaris Hybrids available to hire from University of Exeter’s Streatham Campus. The cars are as a result of a partnership with the University aimed at encouraging staff to travel sustainably when out and about on business. A third car will soon be joining them at College Road near the University’s St Luke’s campus. We’re also finalising plans for a further four cars around the city – including our very first in St Thomas AND another electric car!
Thank you for talking to us
A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to our survey. Here’s a few of the highlights…
We’ll shortly be picking the winners of the £10 drivers credit so keep an eye on your inbox.
Lights, camera, action!
We’re always trying to find new ways to make using our cars as simple and straightforward as possible. That’s why we’ll shortly be introducing a ‘quick start’ video guide that covers all the basics along with troubleshooting clips that deal with the most common ‘how to’ questions we get asked. Links to the videos will be included with every booking confirmation. We hope you find them useful and would love to hear your feedback.
PS We’re also shooting a promo for our new Co Bikes – keep an eye out for it on our social channels at the end of July! If you want to see and try the bikes sooner than that, we’re going to be at Wellfest all day on Sunday 7 July. We’d love to see you there!
Insurance excess waiver
In life, accidents can happen – and sometimes they can be expensive. Whilst we do not offer an insurance excess waiver ourselves, there are products out there you can buy which will cover some or all of our insurance excess charges. Simply search ‘excess reimbursement insurance‘ (catchy title, right?!) Obviously, we cannot personally endorse any particular product so, to ensure you have chosen the most suitable cover, we would strongly advise you read the terms and conditions carefully before signing on the dotted line.
Legal bit: The responsibility for full and timely payment of any excess charges to Co-cars lies solely with the User or Business Account, even if such a product has been obtained.
Chamber of Commerce lunch
We’re out and about at events a lot at the moment which is fantastic. There’s nothing like being able to talk to people face to face to get them to understand what we’re all about. A particular highlight during June was hosting the Exeter Chamber of Commerce lunch. Here we got to speak to almost a hundred representatives from business across the city and East Devon. We even got a few brave souls to try our bikes!
Our car and bike solutions can really help businesses as we all move towards a zero carbon future. If there’s a business event you’d like us to speak at – or even if you’d just like a chat about how we can help – then don’t hesitate to get in touch!
